Our Mission

Picture
Although Firewoman Studio was recently established in 2008 the owner has been a prolific artisan for over twenty years and has been responsible for providing countless outstanding Northwest Coastal Carvings, Designs and Restoration services.

Our specialty is in the area of Northwest Native American Coastal Designs. Our treasured clients particularly value our museum quality, energetic creations and down to earth client service. We are in the midst of becoming a eco-conscious sustainable business. We will be doing some traveling to provide exhibits and demonstrations so please check back for updates.

Sasa, Founder of Firewoman Studio, is a domestic violence survivor as well as a cancer survivor including the loss of her daughter and mother to cancer.  Even with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and a TBI (traumatic brain injury) from domestic violence, which leaves her life very challenging when it comes to
cognitive thinking and memory recall she does not let any of these barriers stop her from living and creating. "I believe there is always hope and "love is the only color"(Walela quote)."

Sasa is of Tsalagi and Dutch descent. She and her sons (Coastal Salish/Tsalagi/Dutch) are artisans of Northwest Coastal Designs and restorers/healers of treasured creations. Her artwork can be seen at Ivar's Salmon House on Lake Union (Commercial Installation), Seattle as well as Smithsonian Institute Gift Shops, Issaquah District Library, Seattle Art Museum Shop, Museum of Northwest Art Store in LaConnor, Ventures At Pike Place Market, Island County Historical Society Gift Shop in Coupeville, and Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. Her work can also be found in Alaska at Rain Barrel, Ivory Tusk, Mt Roberts Tram Giftshop, Pyramid Beads,  and Midnight Sun.
